HeatMaster / Re: Out with the Taylor in with the Heatmaster g200

You have to remove the display to get to the control panel for the boiler controls. Then there is a series of steps to access the proper place to change the settings. I got the information from Richard , he got it from heatmaster.

Hey Jason , I also purchased my boiler from Ed Newbould. It's here in SE MA I have nothing but good things to say about the whole deal. I had some trouble keeping mine going in warm temps at first but , we reset the time between cycles when it is not in a heating cycle. I am running mine at 45 min between cycles and it burns for 5 min. The factory is set for 90 min between cycles and for 3 min burn. Also I have messed with how I load the wood to make sure there is a nice thick coal bed so it lights fast. no trouble since

I filled my oil tank here in Mass the day I lit my OWB off a couple weeks back . $1.36 was the price that day. I dont plan on looking at the oil tank again until late spring when I will prob let the oil boiler heat my DHW for the summer. I dont care how cheap oil is I hate hearing that oil burner running. I like cutting wood and tucking it to the oil companies too!

Plumbing / Re: To Propress or not to Propress

I don't know if I buy the whole idea yet. One of my plumbers has started using this system on our jobs. Not sure about relying on an o-ring when it is being heated and cooled often over years? Faster - yes.   Pretty - no.

35 Self employed residential building contractor. Getting married to long time sweetheart in Sept. Avid outdoorsman , hunting ,fishing ,cutting wood ,working around our 5 acre farm. Plenty to do with a fairly original 1840 2500 sf farm house and keeping the property up to the honey's expectations. We pretty much build most of the things we need like buildings ,log splitter ,wood wagon with davit and winch , and must like fixing things with the fleet of old tractors we have. I do most of my own plumbing ,electrical ,welding\fabbing ,and repurposing of almost anything. I have a 10 year old yellow lab who's my best friend. And after a long days work I love a cold Bud or two... oh yeah and if we don't have enough to do with our time buddy of mine bought 30 acres and we are starting a christmas tree farm. Maybe should have my head looked at

I built my hx manifold from a picture i took at Richards neighbors house when I was up there. My wife always watches the gauges on the supplys and returns on both sides. Its great because I always have nice updates about what the boiler is doing without having to go outside to look at it. :D

Schoppy , Richard was able to get the information from heatmaster and he passed it on to me. They probably don't want me to share it but I would if someone was to say it was ok

I had an issue with my g200 in warmer weather not relighting after long down times between burns. The factory setting is every 90 min it does a 3 min cycle. We reset mine to every 45 min for 5 min and the problem is gone.

HeatMaster / Keeping my 1840 house at 70 with g200
« on: January 30, 2016, 07:23:29 AM »
So after months of research and thanks to information from guys like you here on the forum we bought a Heatmaster SS g200. We are so glad we did. Slim Jim came down and helped me get it up and running. Thank you so much!! So after running the boiler for about a week here's my observations. There is a learning curve to running a gasification boiler ,after you figure out how to load it and when to leave it alone it's really simple. As of right now I am getting 12-14 hour burn times on good seasoned wood. Our house is easily staying at 70 degrees and we have the hottest DHW I have ever seen and it seems to be unlimited. I am also running a small modine heater on the return loop and heating the basement. Our house is about 2500 sf and was built in 1840 , no insulation and old windows. This boiler is really impressive. I have friends and neighbors with conventional style wood boilers and I cant wait to show them what this one can do.

I love my Heatmaster g200  I'm getting 12 hour burn times and keeping my 2500 sf 150 year old house at 70. My wife can't even run us out of hot water either. Some of our neighbors have old boilers and I hope when they see ours they upgrade theirs.
