I know we talk about it here and there but let's start this thread about 2013-2014 heating season and how much wood you burned. Include location, the make and model of your boiler, how much area you are heating and possibly the type of wood.

southern Maine, would be about 40 cord but instead we used perhaps 50 ton of wood chips and maybe 4 cord of wood heating the house and shop

3400 sq. ft. in two buildings.  Burned 9 cords for the season with shutdown about 4/20/14  Mostly maple, ash, beach, and oak.  It was a long season, but ready to go again.  We are located in Plymouth, NH.  CB 2400 4th season

1300 sq ft. House, 2500' pole barn, CB 6048, exactly 7 months of running. Much colder than average winter. Northern PA.  13 cord oak and 4 cord white pine all seasoned. At least two cord wasted on inexperience.

What do you mean by inexperience ST98?

Being my first year I'd fill the box twice a day regardless of weather. When spring came I'd put three logs in and be good for 12hours.  Think I could've used a lot less wood.

Did the same thing my first year every time a walked by I would stuff it full! Iam heating 3,000 sf  5 or 6 cords not sure I don't split or stack just work off a pile of pine. I live in north west nj

In Iowa, last winter was the worst I've ever been around in decades, my wood doctor eat firewood by the truck load, we lost count after fifty cords but I do know we burned my entire years supply plus this winters supply as well, heating a 125 year old two story house that's about 2000 square feet, and a shop that's about 2700 square feet, but has 20 foot ceilings in it.   

The wind never quit blowing all winter long, and the blower motor on the boiler never shut off for weeks at a time, we had issues but hopefully have them worked out now, time will tell.

Ouch that's a lot of wood, bad winter for sure.

 I think last yrs winter isn't a good winter to say how much you burned..Everyone burned way more than normal regardless on what wood burning device you have

Burned 12 cord here in Canterbury New Hampshire. Heating 2500 sqft 220 year old two story colonial.

That's true matty let's change it up a little how about adding what you average the previous years compared to last.

3200 sq ft western Maine.    Last year 8 cord.     Year before 10 cord.

2013 burned approx 14 cord. 2014 approx 16 cord. Northern MN, 2000sf poorly insulated old farm house and DHW.  Hardy h5. This will be my 3rd season coming up.  Mostly ash, oak, popple and birch. Burn from Oct thru end if May the last two years.
