Help me ID some trees
«

My tree identifying skills are not too sharp yet and I want to make sure I am not wasting my time with lesser quality wood. Anyone who can chime in and tell me what these are would be greatly appreciated. I am in the thumb in michigan if that helps at all.

Looks like cherry and soft maple, cut up pieces are cherry. Good firewood, dries quickly, all wood is good firewood.

Cool thanks. I have a ton of beech in those woods which I am pretty excited about. A lot more ash than I thought also. Some of the others I am uncertain on.

Yep I would say cherry and maple also. I've burnt quite a bit of cherry. It burns great even green. If I don't have to I usually don't mess with maple but like everything else, it burns!

Wild cherry and maple, both burn well and not terribly hard to get dry.
