Yep, prolly on the wrong thread again.  I've a bad habit forming.  So anyway, I ordered up wood for the Old Shaver.  Got a really good deal...I think, at least so far that's what I've been told.  4 FULL cords for $160 each.  Wood is hickory, oak and something else.  2-3 yr old hardwood.  Took delivery of 1.5 cord this morning and will get the rest sometime next week.  I ordered (4) full cords. 

Now I have to decide whether to nicely stack the wood or just cover the pile with a tarp.  It WILL take a good  part of the day stacking it and then for the same when the rest arrives.  Think I'll just cover it with a tarp.

Well...it was a toss up yesterday ( Saturday)  Do I shut the OWF down and hang and connect the Ranco or do I take my wife up on her offer to move and stack the 1.5 cord of new wood?  Hmmmm.  Well I chose the latter.  We put down a tarp that is prolly 14' x 18' and made about 6 trips back and forth with the truck from in front of my shop to over by the OWF...then back along side my shop for the rest.  We finished up moving all the wood around 4pm after beginning around 11am.  So much nicer now to just lift up the tarp covering the stacked wood that is just 4' from the OWF!  No more pushing/pulling the wheel barrow through the snow.   

Bought two more tarps today at Fleet Farm because sometime this week I'll be receiving another 2.5 cord of wood.  Looking forward to Spring when I can build my wood storage building, and keep everything close at hand and OUT of the elements.

Yep should be 192 cu ft. I have heard of that happening to

RSI...pretty sure this guy will be honest, he's my best friend's father-in-law, that, and he's pretty well known in the area to be an honest fellow...so I don't think I have to worry about this.  Besides, he brought it over in a beat up Chebbie pick me up stacked to the gills and the bumper almost dragging on the ground...not certain how I would have measured it.  I do know that a full cord is 4'x4'x 8'...and it pretty much looks close to that or even a bit more.  Wife and I stacked it, but not in the 4'x4'x8' configuration.

the fatherinlaw  has done his that way it was a full sized truck and the wood will be stacked even with the top of the cab

I sell firewood as a side job which is why I'm looking to buy an OWB but that's besides the point.  On topic, an 8ft full size truck bed level with the bed rails is about 2/3 of a cord.  I'm not trying to sell any wood (I can't keep up as it is) but I sell an 8 ft truck bed in Southern Indiana for 65 which is like I said about 2/3 cord.  Just offering an FYI when you buy in the future.
