HeatMaster / New Tutorial Videos
« on: February 07, 2018, 07:26:38 PM »
HeatMaster is uploading some new tutorial videos for G-Series maintenance/repairs to their youtube channel. So far they've covered door gaskets, changing spirals, replacing the damper/actuator, replacing the controller and changing fuses.

From us it would have tax on it.  Could maybe arrange for him to purchaser it from its current owner? I think that would eliminate sales tax.

How frequently should a door gasket be changed?
Probably no point changing it until it's not sealing up properly.  A few of the first things you'll notice could be creosote building up on the fire box,  smoke leaking out around the door or issues with overheating.

We order it from an outfit overseas.  Comes on a huge roll.

A few years back we had a service call where a guy's Aqua-Therm had "blown up" . Turns out the pressure relief valve had rusted shut so when something caused his boiler to overheat the welds failed in the back of the fire box.  The fire box door blew open and the wood put a dent in the wall acrooss the shed from it.

In the near future we will taking in on trade a HeatMaster C150. Previous owner used it for about two months and is upgrading to a larger model. Unit is in great shape and we're going to be asking about $4,900.

We're located in Northwestern Wisconsin near the small town of Almena.

We had a customer tell us they incinerated a 500 lb. steer in their MF20,000e. Said it smelled like roast beef for a few days.

So some folks on this forum a while back were looking for a place to get silicone permeated door gasket rope for outdoor boilers. This last year we've switched from the standard braided gasket material to one precoated with a high temperature silicone product. This should help the gasket stay soft and keep a good seal for longer. We've added a door gasket kit, including this rope, to our web store.

NW Wisconsin is covered in a good layer of snow. Should accumulate up to 4 or 5 inches according to a couple estimates.
