Post by: koutsman on December 12, 2011, 10:25:57 PM
So far so good !!!  It hasn't been a very harsh winter so far but I bet the worst is yet to come!!!   It's been running great!!!  I don't foresee any problems.

My new Legend is doing great.  Some people keep talking about there OWF smoking, but I have very little smoke coming out of my Legend.  But, I am burning dry wood.
I had a fireplace insert for years and knew the OWF would use more wood, but I am supprised at how little wood it does use!
No complaints on my end

Going good, the inside door is warperd from the heat which I expect is normal.  It smokes when I put bad wood in it  >:D  Otherwise there is a wisp coming out when it is idling.  When running good I only see clear exhaust.  The simplicity is apealing and while there may be better boilers, I didn't have the rest of my life to research them.  I figure my payback at 3 years with a warmer house and happier wife.

That makes a payback of 1 year

Same here.  It has been close to zero the last couple of nights and I have been getting 15-16 hrs. easily. If I  was always home to stir and let coals burn down I could probably get 3-4 more hrs. out of it. That is heating 3500 sq.ft of house to 70 while home and 68 when we aren't, 1200 sq. ft garage at 60. 2-50gal. water heaters and a 500 gal. Hot Tub  So far (knock on wood) haven't had any trouble with boiler, did have to replace air to water hx 2wks ago. It lasted 6 yrs.  So for not being a major brand this Legend has been great!!!!

Great and still loving my Legend.  I haven't had any problems, but in the last six months I have bought a spare fan motor, solenoid, pump and aquastat just in case!

Having very good luck with mine too. I have spares too. My pump started chirping so I ordered a new one. It seems to be okay so haven't changed it.
Thanks for the reply.
