I have light to moderate smoke for maybe 10 minutes....  If there is a lot of coal it will be a brownish yellow smoke until it gets hot then it's gone

Some of the guys from the hearth site remind me of a bible verse from Romans, I believe, that says something to this effect: "professing to be wise, they become fools". If memory serves me, the group of people Paul was referring to essentially thought they were smarter than everyone else-including God.
Too bad some people can't see we're all out to accomplish the same set of goals. Their end will not justify their present means.

Nice video! I wish my Hardy H2 would run like that.  I am burning very dry wood but it still smokes a lot! oh well, I don't have any neighbors so I guess it's not that big of a deal.

Yea there are a lot of hardys around me and most of them smoke quite a bit, I've never ran one so I'm not sure what the problem is

yea even when the blower is on it still smokes quite a bit unless it is kind of low on wood.  It still does its job though!

Yea my cousins looks like a locomotive with coal

I think part of the smoke issue is having the stack exit directly out the top with no time for burning some of the gases

I think you are right Scott and that is not the best design but like AirForce said they work.
