Anybody on one of these log splitters. I was looking at replacing my old speeco with a larger model that can split 36 or even 48" logs. I really like the looks of The ACLS.

Ayuh,..... I take it yer lookin' at the horizontal/ vertical style splitters,..??
I bought the Northern Tool & hyd. 37 ton convertible splitter,....
I love the Honda motor, 'n 37 tons of power,...
Only problem has been the hinge, which appears to have been changed since I bought mine,.....

The one I have now is both vertical or horizontal but the log opening is only 26" I'm looking at the one from American CLS that has either a 36" or a 48" opening with a 10 second return rate (quite fast) also powered by honda

Ayuh,..... One of the several reasons I cut my rounds to 18"/ 20" long,....
Can't imagine handlin' 36" or 48" long rounds,....
That's the Diameter of the wood I've got left, needin' splittin',....

I couldnt do it either but I do have a tractor with a 52" front end loader that I would set those bigins on there. Save the back and use diesel power ;D

I sold my tired Speedco 35 Ton and bought a Northern Tool 37 Ton horz/vert with the Honda motor. Motor is great, chassis is average. Not for high volume firewood processing.
If you plan on spending $2500 on the splitter you WANT.......make it $5000 and you will have the splitter you NEED.
Just my $.02

American CLS owner here. I own the AM48HH with 8 hp Honda engine..Splits 4 foot wood/with 4 way wedge.. Splitter is pretty much unstoppable..Very well built..Its not your box store wood splitters..Highly recommend American CLS or the TimberWolf splitters

That's a big guy! What kind of tonnage is the ram and if you don't mind sharing, what kind of price tag?

Ya it is a big guy..I bought it very very lightly used..Pretty much brand new..I paid $1000 for it. Bran new your looking at about $3000 for it ..All the specs for the splitters are on their web sight or you can call or email them for more info..Defiantly a impressive wood splitter..For me, If I was in the market for a splitter. It would be a tough choice between Timberwolf or the American CLS..I know a few people that own the American CSLsplitter..Engine wise stick with the Hondas!
