Mild steel unit may need to run hotter than 170 to keep condensation out. RSI should be familiar with this.

Fire can't burn unless it gets air. Been burning year round for over 20 yrs. Current stove, C375 had a stuck solenoid once and got a little warm once, but its doing great now. Don't have any fancy controls or even a shed, just sits out there like it came and gets a little wood every now and then. Making hot water and drying clothes.

You need two stages of heat to run your heat pump. So if you want one stat to do it all you need three stages of heat. The problem is most stats with three stages put the heat pump first and fossil fuel last, you want heat pump in the second stage. The alternative is a heat sensor which will cut out the compressor and pull in the blower anytime it senses heat. Then any heat pump stat will work including the 721.

Still burning here too. Don't know how much it saves, but just like water that is really hot, and now with the addition of the clothes dryer just makes me think I need to keep burning.

D5Knapp, you should invent a dog dryer.

A lot of chatter on facebook how good they look, just can't find anyone with experience running their MP or Pristine series.   No one burning?

Got that right. Had one Grandma tell me "It makes my grand children come see me". Had one dad tell me" I get up sat. morning steppin' over kids in my basement, sleeping kids all around the pool, but guess what? I know where my two girls are at."

If you are not concerned about EPA, You have choices. The E 100 and E 200 are cheap but only a 3yr. warranty. Heatmaster has a WF4000 commercial labeled unit for under $6000. Limited lifetime warranty and stainless. Not that I'm telling you to put that unit to a house, but If you're going to do it get the best deal for your dollar.

I wouldn't worry too much about creosote in the firebox of a GS200, just check the air channels, make sure they are open good and your damper plate is clean. Use a little atf on it to keep it slick. Scrap around the door jam.I may be the worlds worst, but have not seen any deterioration with creosote on stainless. Figure next fire will burn it off.

The results are sent out via E-mail. If they get one digit off you don't get it. Call and make sure your info is right in the computer. The computer sends it and as far as they know you got it. Should get results in 2wks. But they are a phone call away and it is toll free if that matters.

Mahoning does run a shunt pump which should run any time the furnace is used. The zone to the house may come on and off to heat demand or can be constant run depending on the setup.

OK, got a 6" duck to dryer, everything else the same.  Air temp is 163 going in dryer. Dried a small load, two pairs jeans and two work shirts and socks, 40 min.   I think I can stand this. The whole dryer heats up now, so I know I'm giving it all the air it can utilize without going to direct feed. My electric can work as always.

Looks like I'll be burning all summer for sure.

I am sure if you hooked it to flow direct into the dryer it would work better but I wanted to keep the electric option.

The 4" silver pipe is the hot air from the coil/blower unit. It just puts air into the dryer, is not attached to the element tube. I agree it is too restrictive, I'll put a 6" there when I get a chance and let you know how that does. 250cfm fan but it is no way you can get 250 cfm in a 4'', so there should be room to play.

The fan on the dryer is on the exhaust, so if you open the door you lose the vacuum on the inlet.
