Title: What's causing the noise
Post by: allis48 on February 17, 2014, 08:43:44 PM
What cause the actuator on the draft fan flapper to make a buzzing sound when it is actuated? It works just fine but it's driving me nuts a lot of times you can turn it off and turn it back on in the noise goes away. Any ideas on how to fix it?

mine does the same thing.  Mine is in the back of the stove behind a door, so I am constantly opening the door and pushing the plunger in a bit and the noise stops but mine does it intermittently too.  Its only a problem when I am outside working and hear it! ;D

Definite purpose motor starters will do the same thing sometimes. The solenoid on mine has done it for ten years. Wouldn't worry about it, but I agree it is annoying.
