Plastic PEX fittings
« on: May 24, 2011, 09:27:57 AM »

Has anybody used the plastic fittings for inside your buildings? They are supposed to be better than brass for corrosion protection. Thanks

The plastic pex fittings were made because of aggressive water conditions. Dezincification in the brass fittings caused the fittings to fail catastrophically, leading to some class action law suits...The water in OWB's is treated, so this is not something to worry about...as far as the plastic keeping things more protected from corrosion than brass, It won't make a difference....

The water chemistry is critical....
