hello crow we just purchased 24 cords of oak for 1320.00 thats enough wood to heat my house and polebarn for3 plus years and another 840.00 to get it cut and split i cant split and cut anymore, thats still only 720.00 per year and we can keep the heat in the house at 74 and the polebarn at 55to 65. so 720.00 dollars per year isnt to bad i couldnt heat with propain for that. think about it. and stay warm not juat comfortable. happy burning rick

hi frank first off where do you live? i have done 2 yrs of research on woodboilers and to the best i found portage& main to be the best boiler for me. i like the big loading door, the ease of cleaning the ash pan, cleaning the stack from the ground, the dual pass heat exchangerand the ease of cleaning the exchanger,i have never seen a spark come out of my stack. i am burning 1/2 the amount of wood of most the other boilers. to this day i have burned 5 cords of oak and i started to burn sept 1and heat a 28x40 polebarn and a house about the same size. most states say you must have a backup heat sorce furnace,i put in an l.p. furnace and central air when its not cold enough to fire the boiler but chilly out i kick on the furnace just to take the chill out. i hope this will help. feel free to email back. rick
