Do any of you out there have or know anyone that is using the PORTAGE & MAIN Optimizer 250 gasification OWB?
-
I don't know anyone ,but I think it is a real nice unit.Looked at the video on youtube of it.Seems to be built well.

I just bought one a week ago . hope to have it running this week.

Portage and Main sure do have some good looking stoves. They are priced a bit higher but I do like the looks of their products.

Remember, its been said, no pictures and it didn't happen.

They do cost a bit more , but when you look at them up close you can see why. Im not bashing other units I just liked the way this is built. Its very well thought out and easy to get at everything as compared to other units I looked at. I will post honest results as things progress. Soon I hope!

Of course any company has to justify there costs in some way. I've talked to portage and main a couple times. I've been interested in there stoves but I just worry about the higher price point for my customers. They as well as most companies really push gasification units. Here in kentucky if you mention gasification the customer quickly goes back to the regular OWB. Out of probably 100 visitors this year only 1 person I remember even entertained the idea of a gasifier. The further North you go the more likely to see gasification, especially in the NE where EPA has went nuts

portage & main optimizer is up and running ! Its amazing how little smoke there is . It smokes for about 5 seconds when it kicks on if it smokes at all. When its not running there is a very little wisp of steam, but you have to look hard to see it. So far Im very impressed with it.
