Hi all. Looking forward to fall and everthing that goes with it as I am wraping up the install of my new Hardy H2. So my question is, do I need any special thermostat that I need or will a simple round dial or cheap digital one do the trick. Its just for the owb. I'm going to leave my programable stat for my forced air furnace and a/c. thanks for the imput.

a basic honeywell aquastat will work fine
or if you want a fancier one, ranco's are really good
both will do what you need

Are you looking for something to control the temp. of the H2 or to control the temp. of your house? It looked like to me that you were wanting to control the temp. in the house and a simple 2 wire heating only Tstat will do the job.

I use a cheep digital for my H2, wired into the "fan on" on the house thermostat and it works great.

Yes going to control temp in house. The H2 came with the aqua stat on it. Thanks for the input. Looks like a cheap digital stat it is. Now I'm off to pump water out of my trench so I can finish the last piece of pipe and make the hole through the basment wall. It's crazy, here in south east MO we have been in a drought for about 2 months but when I dig my trench on monday we get 2in tuesday night and wednesday. But thats my luck :bash: :bash:

If you wire the power wire from the existing to the new (probably red) . Then connect from the heat (probably marked w) on the new to the fan on the old (probably green or g ) you should be good
