I wish I could see twigs. Ash? I'll bet it burns.

It was cut by the utility company on my mother laws property and they gave me the trunk. It's been dead for over a year. I don't think it's an ash. It sure did bust easy.I didn't even bust a lot of it it's so easy to handle. Made over a cord and ready to use.

Does it stink? We have a variation of Elm around here that looks eerily similar to that but stinks to high heaven. We call it P!ss Elm lol. You know that orange urine smell in the morning after a good night of drinking? That's what the pulp smells like

That's what it is. I kept thinking I had had an accident
I stunk the whole time I was cutting it. Is it good firewood?

It was dead so I went straight to the boiler with it. I got a good 12 hour burn with it and had no creosote. So I'm pretty pleased with it. I would definetly recommend a dead piss elm.

I’ve burnt a ton of elm over the years, really like red elm on the rare occasion I find a dead one.

I'm very impressed with elm. Im getting 12 hour burns without all the charcoal pile up and the creosote is little to none. It handles so light I only bust a lot of it one time so it's very large peices. Very little ashes. I give it a 8 out of 10. I'll start looking for dead elms now.

This topic was from back in November. It was a p**s elm. It's already been burned . My other topic is a different tree. Look at it and tell me what it is. The topic is tree identification.
