What I did was insulated my ped lines in the basement and cut a wall switch in our master bathroom that controls the boiler circ pump. This way the house don't get hot on mild days and when she wants a hot shower she just flips the switch on and when she's done with the shower she turns it off. Works pretty slick

That's a good idea victor.     You have a plate exchanger I take it  not a side arm

Yes a 20 plate. The setup works great. If we get a low of 40 night I flip the switch on and go to bed.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / cfm lower or higher?
« on: April 13, 2014, 08:31:19 AM »
I'm wondering if a fan speed that is higher on a conventional would be better for efficiency or would a slower cfm fan do the same? My stove has 65 cfm Fasco and seems to work good but I noticed when I add my chimney extension it doesn't like it. If I had a bigger fan on the front I think my extension chimney would work better.

I have 3 wrap double tiled and am very impressed with it. If they had 5 wrap when I bought mine I would've got it and put it inside of 6 inch PVC. As far as a tile type ped its the best in that category.
