how many of you get flames out the stack?
« on: April 02, 2012, 05:05:20 AM »

I have only had my h4 for three weeks and I have had it shoot flames out the stack when first lit that's the only time I notice flames other than that very little smoke other than when first loaded. Just wondering if its no big deal as I don't want to catch my wood pile on fire.

I get flames out of mine all the time.  Usually only when I have the wood stacked really high in the fire box.  Hasn't casued any problems yet.

Walker,

I would lengthen your chimney first and see how it goes. You may find that the flame either
stops or isn't enough to worry about.
