new to this so a little advise please
« on: December 20, 2013, 03:49:35 PM »

I have a econo 200 same maker as Ozark biomass. 250 gal tank and heats 2800 square feet. filling the fire box up gets 12 hours burn time. here in Kentucky this month has was cold ( for us ) lots of under 20 f.
We are averaging 2 ricks a week wood burnt.   sound about right ?
heating a 1800 sq ft house and a 600 sq ft trailer.
20  differance from tank to return . wire pump continuous. if i switched it to cycle with blower motor would that work better ?

i would say it depends on the would that you are burning , the temp down here has been up and down when it has been colder in the teens i burn about a trailer load a week mind you it is slab would that is about 10 foot long and stacked about 2 foot high on the pump i would leave it run all the time

I dont care if its pine that's a lot

the wood im burning now is sycamore poplar and walnut, very little oak in it.  Maybe 15% oak.

Slabs dont last as long as they can be primarily bark n not much of the dense center

Most of it seasoned hardwood logs not split. 6" to 18 inch across.
Burning a 6x8 trailer load a week.  The fire box on this stove is about 3 x 3 x 4 and burns about 12 hours on a load of wood

i agree the slabs burn faster and make more ask but its free , dint mean to upset scott as wood use what you stated was a cord of wood down here but on same note a rick is1/4 of a cord    i  might be wrong but flashpnt is not putting a ful cord on that small of a trailer

depending on the trailer it could take a cord...a 6x8 trailer made from an old pick up box piled 2.5 feet deep would be about 120 cubic feet (very close to a cord...128 cubic feet)

a cord of mixed hardwood would be near 2 tons though...trailer would be well overloaded (unless a double axle)

Thats pretty much what I was thinking willie
Lets say its only half of a cord

thats 1 cord per week in ky?

A cord of wood down here on the square footage hes listing should go probably 3 weeks...
