Thanks to all who have given such great advice.

I have been reading these posts for several months now and have recently joined. My installation is complete and i thought i would post some pics of the progress. The pictures are in no particular order.

The furnace has had a fire in it for a week now and i love it. It is heating my 3000 sf house and heating my hot water, and man is it hot.

I tried to post my pics directly to the forum but they are too large and i have too many.

  I am pleased with it. I still have some insulating to do because my utility room is 100 degrees. I need to insulate my lines and the plate exchanger for sure. For now i am heating my attached garage by leaving the door open at the utility room.

Nice setup stewie!  I never thought about using charcoal to start the fire, good idea.  That is charcoal right? lol

Yea,

Its charcoal. I wanted to bring the stove up to temp slowly so i started with a small charcoal fire and slowly added split kindling for about 8 hours till up to temp.

glad I  saw this , besides having almost the outdoor furnace I'm getting ( picking up  400HE saturday) I see your air unit looks exactly like mine , I was very concerned about putting the heat exchanger under the A coil but I see you went in the short area above the unit , I have the same configuration , can I ask why you  didn't take that top cover piece off and go straight up and then transition into the smaller duct instead of the V out ??Im' just wondering if your restricting your air flow that way, but i like the idea of going above instead of under the A coil

I have had time to plan and i was not forced to rush the install. I got around the restriction in the plenum by sizing the heat exchanger 2.25 x larger than the existing ductwork to eliminate the Bottle neck that i might experience with an exchanger the same size as the duct. I do not notice any loss in flow and the heat at the registers is hot to the point of making vinyl registers sag. I hate to lower the temp at the stove due to possible condensation / corrosion issues so i think i am just going to slow the flow on the multi speed pump.
