Guess this pump
« on: March 07, 2019, 04:27:22 AM »

My coworker went out to swap out the upper pump in this picture on a no heat call. Old house, one pipe system with 12 big  cast iron rads.
Any guesses on the model and cost of that medieval beast? Weighed 36 lbs. With some repiping he replaced it with an NRF-25. Went back to heating fine.
Crazy how times have changed.

Isn't that just a normal 3 piece circulator with 4 bolt flange? I would guess probably a B&G or Taco?

I was expecting a series 100 B&G, this is a B&G size 2. Probably common up north, pretty rare down here. Was over $700, decided to go to a pump with 6 3/8" flange spacing. It'll make a good door stop.

Don't the series 100 all have 2 bolt flanges? I don't come across these pumps very often. I think they are really common in commercial applications though.

Yes. The 100 is two bolt, I see them pretty often on old boilers.
It's a shame those old systems are getting ripped out to put in AC nowadays. Somwhow a minisplit hanging on the wall doesn't have the character like a big cast radiator.
