A little late to ask now is't it, yes it should heat it fine, yes it will reduce flow unless you make it a secondary loop, install unions for changeouts, purge tee's and ball valves on all 4 ports for easy cleaning with coil cleaner.

What is the total length of your loop and what size pump do you have? It is very likely you will get really low return temps to the boiler because of the reduced flow unless the pump was way oversized.

So 100' each way? You will most likely have to add another one in series to use the 10 plate or get a larger pump.
If it is 200' each way you will need a larger pump for sure.
If you go up to a 20 plate you can probably stay with the pump you have for 100' each way.

I went from a 10 plate to 30 plate. I did notice a reduction in pressure. But, I also only have a 2" well. so just looking at 2 faucets on at a time reduces pressure. I am happy with the upgrade. It might just be mental, but I think I regained original flow.
