It is 1" gasket, just curious if any of you have changed yours yet.  Ive heard about the silicone ones but haven't seen where to get one.  How much are they per foot?  How well do they hold up?

How are your rope gaskets holding up on the 4135?  Mine is good shape on the top and sides but the bottom is pretty hard and I believe it leaks a little.  Is there a better gasket any one else using?  Thanks.

Always good to have spare parts in case of a failure

I was able to make tighter bends in my pex when I started circulating my 180 degree water then just fastened the lines down, becomes pretty flexible with hot water flowing.

I had a few fittings leak also, but when I put the heat to it they stopped.

I have my 4135 up and running. I only had one issue, the coil burned up that raises the damper, called my dealer and he meet me with a new one.  I noticed that the hook that connects the coil to the damper was making it stick so I took it off and put a short piece of chain in place of it.  But the stove is working great, its heating good and there is very little smoke.

If your exchanger was on top of the furnace ahead of the blower, or a three way zone valve I have one on mine works great.

Pools & Hot Tubs / Re: Hot Tub Exchanger System
« on: October 10, 2013, 05:47:17 PM »
I'm going to be hooking up my hot tub also.  What I am thinking about doing is cutting one of my jet lines, I believe it is about 1" and tie that into a stainless steel tube heater. As far the electrical part, I am going to put a 240volt primary to 24volt secondary transformer on the heater circuit, then run thermostat wire to my 3 way zone valve. So when the tub calls for heat it will turn the transformer on then open my zone valve. Hope this will work, anyone else have there tub hooked up share some ideas?

I've worked in a lot of houses doing electrical/heating and cooling and i've only seen one in 10 years.  It wasn't too noisy it had a thermostat mounted on an opposite wall.  The homeowners rarely used it though.   As far as the heat output I can't remember the wattage, 240 volt.

Thanks for the info.  I'm going to use 6in also. like to find some cheap DB 60 pipe instead of the corrugated seems like a lot of people use the corrugated.  Jerkash I was thinking about the pipe across the ditch sounds like that may work.  The 4135's seem to be insulated well?

Tanner do you use the hot water exchanger with the stove.  How long are your lines?  I'm in the process of installing, doing a little bit each weekend. Just got my insulation for the lines yesterday, probably going to make up the lines and drain tile next weekend.  I have one concern with crossing a ditch that has water that flows through it.  Hope that wont become a problem.
