Title: Found this at menards
Post by: intensedrive on October 29, 2017, 11:21:21 PM
I found this at menards yesterday.  Strap on thermometer for pex.  Could be helpful in many ways to determine heat loss.  I bought one seems broken going to exchange.  I will keep everyone updated.

Looks promising, Id be interesting in knowing if you get it to work.  Thanks.

I tried them a few years ago if they are the same as the ones sold at lowes. Unfortunately they were wildly inaccurate.

:post:  I bought one last year and I had the same results, very inaccurate.

I hear you need to put one single wrap of Black electrical tape on the pex before putting the temp gauge on. Makes a big difference.
