I've noticed when I put my chimney extension on that my stove takes a lot longer to get a draft going which in turn smokes more and sometimes wont get a roaring fire going. Anyone else notice this issue with a forced draft fan stove? The minute I take the chimney off my stove heats up extremelly fast.

Strange.......usually the higher the stack, the better the draft, but, I suppose if there is no air flow through the boiler for a while and the stack cools down, then the fan may have to fight harder to get the draft going again.

it is possable if there are obstructions such as trees or buildings near by that your chimney extension is not tall enough and in fact the short section you added is creating negitve pressure and causing your problem
