Uses no wood at all
« on: November 17, 2014, 02:27:38 PM »

Well sitting here with my e-1450 installed one year ago 1 season on it and will not work, fan burnt spins free had tech which is great guy and knows these things replaced fan check selinoids for resistance all good they need to be 15 to 30 ohms ,said firestar it only shows stage 2 n 3 on with no fire at all? So replaced firestar and same,so at least my little wood burner in the house I use till winter sets in is doing great and looks like I be burning oil the next couple days with the forecast we have.stove was shut down working and now all of this I hope they will pick up the cost??? Getting scared not even one year what's down the road??? Keep u posted

I don't know much about CB's but is the tech that worked on the stove a CB dealer?  If not, I would recommend contacting a dealer and have them take a look.  With it only being one year old I would think it would be under warranty.  If I had to take a guess I would say that it's your Firestar controller that isn't working.  That controlls the entire stove doesn't it?  Is it possible that the one you replaced it with was junk from the get-go or installed wrong?  Don't give up so easily! You should be able to trouble shoot the issue but I don't how the stove works.  Hopefully another CB owner will guide you in the right direction.  Good luck.

My thought on the repaired firestar that's what they do,fix them and use them over but what's crazy is it was shut down working upon start up they think there's a surge sometimes.when it works I love it,worked all last winter and we had winter,I used there spare firestar maybe they need to keep more on hand ?

5050racing,
I have the older E2300 without firestar controller.  So I do not have any input about that.  I'm just curious to know if you have visually checked to see if the fan and solenoids are functioning?  I open my airbox all the time when the furnace is running and see the solenoids in action and of course it's easy to see and hear the fan running.  Again, you can temporarily wire a cord end to the fan so that you can plug it in direct to a power source.  Easy test.  I have about 10 of these blowers running around my greenhouse business.  They run until the bearings seize up.  Can't imagine why yours is burnt but still spins free.  Doesn't make sense to me.    Only other thing I can think of is the primary air channel being plugged up??  Not sure man,  just trying to throw out some ideas.

Good luck!

Not speck of wood in stove all cleaned from end of season, tech an I ohms all pieces fan done power to it all selinoids good I did this and know how also, there is power being sent to unit by the firestar when it's off tech says that's the firestar being bad.new fan installed works but the stove is in 2nd n 3rd stage burn n no fire at all in stove clean dry no wood.everything works just not when it should,I going to push CB to have each dealer stock at least 3-4 of them depending on how many they sell, waiting for parts not even next day who no when suck! Just came down to load old KENT TILE FIRE in living room for the night

Sorry to hear of your troubles 5050, I'm sure they are extremely busy right now and patience is key, at least you seem to have a good dealer, how about giving him a plug for his efforts?

I've operated Farmalls, JD, Kabota, Case, Masseys, etc...  As long as it starts when I need it, I don't care what paint is on the hood...as long as it's green.   ;D   Roger
