Suppose it would be worth it to put this over the studs on the inside of your house?

It may give you a little help with a thermal break but i feel that the wall covering would compress it and negate any value.  Using a high-R board (poly iso) either on the inside or outside would give you better performance.

If what your talking about is anything like Plyfoil, then I wouldn’t bother. At most its a reflective layer for radiant heat and not really that good a one.

I  wasted the time of insulating our shop with it, while it most certainly helps, if you look closely on any of those foil-bubble-foil products they’ll only give you an “*estimated R value” as they know if it’s tested like “real” insulation it will fail horribly. Should have saved all my dimes and quarters and just had the inside of the barn sprayed with a few inches of closed cell instead.

Area I am using it already has 4" (R 20)of 1 pound foam, going to frame a 2x4 wall in front and fill with 3.5"(R15) open cell, just wondering if the reflectix would help while it is apart. Still pondering radiant walls.

Floor being framed, will have R35 closed cell underneath and then Ultra Fin.

If anyone desires foil-sided bubble insulation, the most inexpensive place I have found to purchase is on line at insulation4less(dot)com.  You are required to create an account in order to see actual pricing.  They generally have a buy-one-get-one-free sale on complete product rolls periodically.

I have no affiliation with nor do I sell their product in any manner.  Just a decent place if you are interested in this type of product.  CHEERS!

I used reflectix to insulate my underground piping , not a great use. I did find a great use for it though. My wife was telling me about taking cardboard and wrapping it in alum foil to put behind our cast iron radiators in our house. They said it would reflect the heat back into the room that is absorbed into the wall. Well I got her a 3' roll of reflectix and she cut pieces for behind all the rads. It works great!!!  I would recommend this to anyone with cast iron radiators.
