 I would guess that would be a bit high but I don't know. I am basing this simply on comparing prices of other brands. For example, the H4 is a 180,000 BTU furnace. The brand I sell (Heat Master) has a 170,000 BTU furnace that sells for $5,500 and a 250,000 BTU furnace that sells for $6,300. Maybe some other dealers could chime in with prices to compare.

We are building a house and I have had a H2 for 12 years or so.  I called one dealer for a price and he just wanted to quote a whole system install.
So I don't know how much the H4 was, he lost me when I asked him what they put they water lines in and he pointed to some red and blue pex in the back of his truck.

I said but what does that go in, he said" we put it 18" down.. It won't freeze...... ::)

I am not worried about it freezing, I don't want to fill the hardy up every ten minutes though.

I was priced 5100 for the H4.  He only has 4-5 left.  When he sells out, the law states it is illegal to sell any non gassification stoves.  He's got em marked down to 5100 so he can move them out and not get stuck with them.  Other dealers may be in the same boat depending on where you are.  Check around for good deals.  Maybe order one in a state that has these new laws and have it shipped.  May be cheaper.

5100 seems like a pretty good deal considering i was quoted 6857.54 with tax on a discounted 2011 h4 but he said it had the small 6 grate which added 20,000 btu. Said he'd been selling them for 20+ years

A local dealer closer to me said 6500 for the h4 is what he's suppose to sell them for. Also said he heard through the grape vine that in the next 2-3 years with all the epa changes and what not the h2 will be around 12 grand. He told me i should buy within the next 2 years.

That's what my dealer said.  he said since the new epa regs came out prices are going to skyrocket and to buy now before they do.  May be just a sales ploy but it seems consistent across the board.  The dealer I talked to has to move his by March (I think) due to our new state rules so I'm guessing that's why he lowered the price to 5100.
