What type of water filter do you guys use ?
On the wood boiler side.
Thanks

No water filter used here.

No water filter here, either. I'd imagine most regular filters would add too much head to the flow and breakdown in the heat. A spindown filter would probably not work so well, either.

These are the best I have seen. https://www.boilermag.com/na/products/residential/
Too expensive for most people to want though.

None for me.

A lot of people use Rusco’s. Personally all I have on mine is a wye strainer, which I’ve never found anything in it.
-
I've had a couple Taco pump impellers disintegrate last year. Kind of wish I had a wye strainer to capture the pieces rather than wonder where they ended up.
-
Yeah I just run a wye strainer and clean it start of the season never really had much after first season.
-
Wye strainer for me too. Found a few little tiny pieces of stuff after the first year but nothing since.
-
Thinking of adding a filter but it seems the need is questionable??
-
None for me either, just a wye strainer which is always clear when I check it annually. I think your stove and piping along with treatment will determine the need for a filter, stainless stoves with barrier pex and proper treatment should never have any buildup to speak of but any mild steel system with plumbing pex will be more susceptible.

Just a wye strainer cleaned once a year.
