I wouldn't need a thermostat in that room either then?

I had thought the water to the slab should be around 100-120 degrees, mine would be quite a bit hotter.

We just built a new 18x16 room on end of house with 270' of 1/2" pex, I am going to add a new zone vlv. and a mixing vlv. not sure on what I need for sure yet to get this finished, when all done I guess I might have to change the pump in the house hydronic system, it has a 15-58 but is also 12 yrs old and we have added 4 extra zones since we started.

What about the alpha pump, it looks like it moves more gpm? And looks like it would use less power, with as many zones as we have the pump runs alot, always one needing heat

What is the power draw differance from the 15-58 (mine is a single speed) and a 26-99 on low?

What would the next size pump be, looked at a 26-99 but that's like double the flow, would like something in middle, we added 2 zones last year for a total of 6 and now added another.

Fire Wood / Re: Atv with tracks?
« on: March 03, 2015, 04:34:14 AM »
I have tracks on my 09 Grizzly 550 efi, I pull a drag and groom trails on my land and neighbors, about 7-9 miles, love the tracks.
I have went thru a area that was drifted over and snow was up to headlights and never stopped but I was regretting doing it till I was out as getting stuck would be awe full. They are heavy and do not roll easy and are 38% slower so they use fuel, 10-12 miles before low fuel, they do not turn sharp or good on hardpack.
But I wouldn't sell them and put them on every year in fall off in spring

We used this credit in 2011 when installing a pellet stove, looks like you can only use it once between 2001-2014??

Heatmor / Re: Thinking of Getting a HEATMOR 200, input please!
« on: February 19, 2015, 04:37:35 AM »
I have the 200CSS and so far so good, it is better than I expected on wood but it is my first. I did a nice layout with longer concrete slabs but I wish I would of put 2" of foam under the stove itself in the concrete. All that insulates the bottom of stove is a 1/4" insulating foil and then I have 700 lbs of mason sand on that. I see snow melt right next to side of concrete slab below boiler so some heat is going down. But even with my poor insul house and heating garage to 58 and DHW I might go thru 9-10 cords

Decreased by $29 on first month of operation, it was the lowest bill we have had, ($93)

Plumbing / Re: Next size pump

The aquastat only goes to 180 (has a stop on it) and it draws from the lower tank and when fan shuts off the front gauge says 170-172 and the line leaving in rear owb to house is 170ish and about 170ish inside house using a laser temp to the pex line, hard to tell if there is any loss to house. the laser seems to be right on to the temp gauge on the house boiler when pointed at pex and almost matches the front gauge on stove. I wish I could turn the aquastat up to maybe 185 but short of bending tab and some warranty issue if there was a problem I can't

I worded it wrong, water comes in at 170 at its highest (but goes down to 155 before blower on owb kicks in, i can change that) the water from owb after the 40 plate it is about 168 but on the other side the house boiler water never gets above 155 and mostly 140-145 and with radiant heat house stays cool. I was wondering how much heat should transfer or what should the difference be on plate exchanger from owb side output vs. indoor boiler side of plate exchanger.
It would seem if I had better transference of heat I could keep water temp higher going to house boiler system, originally the house gas boiler was set at 180 high to 160 low and we had enough heat and If I can get that temp close we would be good.

We have added 3 zones of heat load to existing 4 for a total of 7, it seems like my 15-58 single speed might not have enough flow when all zones call for heat which seems all the time ( poor insul ) What would the next bigger pump be? 26-99 seems over kill, 15-55 alpha has 5gpm more but not sure if that would be enough.
Water coming into house around 170 to  40 plate w to w exchanger but water gets up to 155 after exchanger? sounds like water is going too fast to heat up? What should I expect temp to be after going thru heat exchanger when OWB has it at 170?
thanks
