Plumbing / Inslab heat
« on: September 08, 2016, 09:37:34 AM »
We just built a new 18x16 room on end of house with 270' of 1/2" pex, I am going to add a new zone vlv. and a mixing vlv. not sure on what I need for sure yet to get this finished, when all done I guess I might have to change the pump in the house hydronic system, it has a 15-58 but is also 12 yrs old and we have added 4 extra zones since we started.

What would the next size pump be, looked at a 26-99 but that's like double the flow, would like something in middle, we added 2 zones last year for a total of 6 and now added another.

We have added 3 zones of heat load to existing 4 for a total of 7, it seems like my 15-58 single speed might not have enough flow when all zones call for heat which seems all the time ( poor insul ) What would the next bigger pump be? 26-99 seems over kill, 15-55 alpha has 5gpm more but not sure if that would be enough.
Water coming into house around 170 to  40 plate w to w exchanger but water gets up to 155 after exchanger? sounds like water is going too fast to heat up? What should I expect temp to be after going thru heat exchanger when OWB has it at 170?
thanks

Heatmor / Aquastat accuracy

I am not sure about my temps, stat is set at 180 ( doesn't go higher than that?) High limit 200 however the temp gauge on front never goes above 170 and kicks on at 152-3 I have checked lines leaving stove with temp gun and that says same temp and when checking lines after 40 plate exchanger it matches temp gauge on house boiler. The stat has a stop on it at 180 which seems like 170, does this seem normal?

Finally hooked up the electric and lit first fire, took abit to get it going then went to 175 fairly quick on front gauge, I need to see what rear stat is set at, was dark by then and to lazy to go get a light.
