should we be worried about paint plugging up our exchangers?

I run my 7500 up to 190. I haven't had to put water in. but I would check your flange fittings at your pump. when I shut my stove down last spring I remember I had to goose those bolts a little. I had a leak there after running it for the season.

I called and talked to tim from ridgewood a few weeks back. he said he wouldn't recommend the fan. he says they have two stoves running at the shop one with a fan one without. can't remember the exact number but it was close to double the stack temp with the fan installed. he says that meens your pushing a lot of heat out the stack. I wouldn't mind having a fan but I would wouldn't like wasting all that heat. did craig mention anything about the stoves performance with the fan installed when anybody ordered?

just my opinion but I went with a side arm when I first installed my ridgewood, I was running out of hot water(2 adults.2 kids). last summer I installed a 30 plate exchanger made a big difference. never run out of hot water now. but it does put a bigger demand on the boiler.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / cast iron radiators
« on: July 26, 2014, 08:04:29 AM »
im thinking about putting a couple older cast radiators in my shop running off my boiler instead of using forced air. how would I hook these up so they don't cycle all the time? to prevent it from getting to hot in the shop? thanks for any opinions and ideas

it sounds like the same side arm I have but I have my supply line from my boiler going into the bottom port of the side arm. would this make a difference? your set up sound the same as mine(T with pop off and mixing valve). its 60gallon water heater and by the time we give the kids theyre bath and my wife takes her shower its luke warm water left over for me! lol.
