Title: what speed for circulating pumps is best?
Post by: tacoma30 on January 19, 2012, 01:06:02 PM
i have a closed system in my garage. i have a pump from my OWF into my garage then aheat exchanger in my garage with a closed loop system on the other side of it feeding my garage floor system.  what settings should i have my pump on my OWF set at? what speed should my garage floor be set on? both are grundfos 3speed pumps. i also have a seperate loop heading into my house from the OWF on a 3rd pump.  i'm just trying to fine tune my pumps for best heat exchange to my garage floor.

I believe what you are looking for is a 10-20* drop across the exchangers for optimal performance.  So you would need to monitor this and see what the lowest speed is that puts you in this range.
