What type of water filter do you guys use ?
On the wood boiler side.

No water filter here, either.  I'd imagine most regular filters would add too much head to the flow and breakdown in the heat.  A spindown filter would probably not work so well, either.

A lot of people use Rusco’s. Personally all I have on mine is a wye strainer, which I’ve never found anything in it.

I've had a couple Taco pump impellers disintegrate last year. Kind of wish I had a wye strainer to capture the pieces rather than wonder where they ended up.

Yeah I just run a wye strainer and clean it start of the season never really had much after first season.

Wye strainer for me too.  Found a few little tiny pieces of stuff after the first year but nothing since.

None for me either, just a wye strainer which is always clear when I check it annually. I think your stove and piping along with treatment will determine the need for a filter, stainless stoves with barrier pex and proper treatment should never have any buildup to speak of but any mild steel system with plumbing pex will be more susceptible.
