General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Re: Vermont

Don't bother shopping through this program for an old boiler cheap.  The certified "Un-installer" has to remove and destroy the old boiler and provide proof.  Reems of paperwork involved.

Yes, it sounds like the wooddoctor discussion has run it's course and has become a pissing match between kids, but one of those kids still owes me $10,000.  Still trying to make ends meet over here so I'm glad the thread is still running.

Any Canadian customers getting hosed by these guys?  It sounds to me like it's only the US that has the problem and they've made it clear down here that they really can't help across the border.  Note to self AGAIN, go USA only.

We've got the same thing going on and a constant pile of goo on the ground in front of the boiler.   We tipped the boiler slightly forward when we placed it, not realizing that this would make the moisture come out the front, but now that one of our customers had a rot-through in his water jacket and had to get the whole boiler replaced we're thinking we made the right choice.  If our front gets out of hand it's a lot easier to repair ourselves, and we're all aware that's what you need to do now.

That's funny Art.
Request for less repetition repeated 5 times.
Yeh, that's funny.

Go to www.wooddoctor.com.  Arthur has posted the long story of what happened to Wood Doctor.  Haven't read the whole thing yet but I'm sure it's worth a peek.

THanks for doing that!  I've notified every authority I can find and they've been very friendly but not very encouraging about openning files or following through on reports.  My loss is too small they say and I should have known better.  Arghhh!

I appreciate that the forum is leaving this discussion up so potential buyers see what we dealers have been going through.  When it all blows up it's amazing where the shrapnel lands and I feel horrible that Barrett seems to catching a bunch of it since she's in the same boat as the rest of us.  As a dealer we take a risk every time we invest in a product.  My last WD customer couldn't wait any longer after an 8-week delay - in October I was still being told I might get something in December, so I refunded his money and he purchased something else.  The guy lives right around the corner, he needed heat and this is a pretty small town so I need to preserve the integrity of my store.    As everyone knows by now the WD boilers need to be paid in full 100% including the freight before they'll even place your order.  Arthur promised me an immediate refund so I used my savings to reimburse my customer and that was 3 months ago.  I'm still being promised that the money might be coming but I'm pretty sure my reputation cost me the price of an HE8000.  I'm $10,000 smarter than I used to be but experience isn't going to cover my bills.  When I've read that dealers "do nothing" and "refuse to help" keep in mind our calls go directly to voice mail, our emails are unopened, and the legal paperwork that's been mailed has been ignored.  They have no respect for BBB, Attorney General, Federal Trade Commission or even their local police.  Our hands are tied and it's the most frustrating experience you can imagine.  I can't order parts, ask questions, couldn't order another boiler if I wanted to because there's ZERO contact available.  Because of this I also can't support the boilers I already sold.  Want water treatment?  Look it up on the internet. Warranty problem?  Sorry, the company is a scam.  Can I interest you in something else?  Where are you going?? ?  Yup, really good for business.

Thanks for the help Callie!  I'm pretty sure you're the only person I've spoken with in the last year who's telling the truth.  I'll do what I can to make sure your name isn't lumped together with these crooks.

Your story is too familiar!  Didn't want to sell wood doctor anymore after they stole a couple of sales out from under me to fill a truck but a customer insisted on buying one.  HE8000 out of the new factory as Arthur said.  my $9800 gone, no refund and the partners appear to be on the run now.  They're ignoring the legal system and I just assume they think we'll give up.  Nova Scotia Department of Justice is pretty interested in them as well as the Federal Trade Commission.  I'm trying to figure out how much more out of pocket I want to spend chasing down seasoned criminals.  If they were closer I'd have just sat on their porch blaring obnoxious music waiting for them to cave.
