Don't you know Slimjim? Plant with the corn, pick with the corn. And I don't see anyone on here planting corn yet. >:D

Take the serial numbers off so it can't be linked to the title, then apply for home made.

Wow.  And here I thought I was the youngest on here with even a few year cushion. Turning 27 in less than two weeks. But the smarter not harder theory is a good one.

I going to order the Super Splitting Axe this week. It's the same as the X27 only all black without the orange non slip grip. Got one in for somebody last week, and it felt really nice. Going to find out for myself if it really is worth the extra money over a standard 6lb maul.

I don't have experience with either one of these units, but from what I can gather is that they are both top notch stoves. Either one will make you happy that you bought it. At that point it all comes down to the dealer. Does one just want to make the sell and not stand by the product they sell if something should go wrong? I don't know about your dealers but I do know that Slimjim, is a P&M rep, and has gone above and beyond to help people on here. Even those who have bought a different brand stoves. I do not know of a CB dealer or rep on here, but there are some very knowledgeable owners, who are equally as passionate about their stoves.

Hondaracer2oo4, check with your local hardware store and see if they have any warranty returns laying around. I know that we get 4 or 5 a year. Most of them are gas, but electric ones will pop up. Also plumbing companies, would probably have a few that they took and replaced

Knowing why they are selling makes a difference as well. Is there something wrong with it? Is it too small for the intended application, or do they just not want to burn wood anymore?

I would have to change my cold air return and something else to raise the furnace. And i ended up using black plastic, gorilla tape, and 1x4's on the insulation under the house last time

Sounds similar to what I'm wanting to do, only I'm going to put the box below the floor insulation.  I cut that stuff once to work on water lines, and its a pain to get that stuff to stay in place after that. This post is full of redundancy. :bag:

The only time I ever get called Mr. is when I'm in trouble, I guess I really am getting older. LOL. Did they cut the hole under the furnace bigger to allow more air to flow, or did they just leave it and butt the box against the subfloor?

Gee thanks! If only I had a dollar for every time I heard "sucks to be you". Anyways, I was thinking about making a box to put the hx in. The box would have a coupler on top and bottom, to connect into where the duct comes through the floor and then to the insulated duct truck. Would this work, or would it slow the air flow too much.

It's gas and the fan sits at the top of the unit.

Scott. How do you put the hx in the main trunk? I live in a mobile home, and this method seems like it would be a lot easier than trying to fit one in the plenum.

Got a pair of Muck Chore boots this year after my regular insulated boots sprang a leak. Love them. The only time my feet have become remotely cold was when I was just standing in the snow and seeing how well they held up to the cold.

I'm in, and you can have different topics to talk about in each group. It's not as easy to navigate subjects as this site, but would still work.
