Robins are covered in ice tonight of they are around.

Is Illinois really considered a southern state? I know we are on this board, but overall? Just curious.

I haven't heard the predicted amounts yet, but I know they are calling for snow tomorrow, and snow, sleet, freezing rain for Saturday night into Sunday.
We do have some nice riding here. Between the bluffs and rivers, you'd be challenged to find much better in the area.

A tiny settlement called Meppen. Just a bit south west of Jerseyville,  nestled between the Illinois and Mississippi rivers.

AirForcePOL, I didn't see any negatives. Single digits, but I am a little bit south of you.

Yes some more winter weather is headed for the central midwest, but I believe the negatives are over.

Sprinter, do you have a link, or does a simple google search work?

I know that I'm not the brightest, but doesn't a converter system seem to be the "duh" answer for owbs with the newer epa laws? I know that they will burn out, but couldn't it be considered a maintenance part?Surely it's a cheaper option than making everything a gassification stove. Also it would keep buying an owb an option for those on a tighter budget, trying to get out from under propane's thumb.

At least there is a state fighting it.

That's what I really like about this board. It's full of people with common sense, who try to help each other instead of getting in a pissing match every thread.

Just like the silencing of Ron Paul. How many votes did he get that the GOP didn't count, or wouldn't announce? Another problem is that many people have given up and just try to choose between the lesser of "TWO" evils.

As a newbie myself, even I can say that the thread list of "Looking for an OWB" does get old. There are times when you have similar threads, on the same page. I have started several "generic" threads, trying to get general info on certain products. Mostly just user experience. Something that needs to be start is a thread, comparing mild steel vs stainless, forced draft vs natural draft and so forth.  I know that when the looking for an owb threads are started everyone tells them to decide based on those criteria. Mine and possibly many peoples problem is that either we don't know what would work best for us, or we just flat don't care as long as we stay warm during the  winter.

True. I'm just thinking about the new EPA regulations. If companies install items like these on their stock boilers, and pass emission inspections with them, then it is up to the end user to maintain them.

Does anyone have one, or seen them work in person? I'm not exactly sure how it works, but it looks like a pre-heated catalytic converter. If it works near as well as they claim; this seems like a legit way of lowering emissions. Without making the price of OWBs skyrocket, or making everyone buy gassers, this seems like a great way to keep the EPA happy. But that's only if it works.
