NC-250
« on: September 18, 2012, 03:08:55 PM »

I'm going to look at a nc-250 on friday. Is there anything specific I should look for? I'm new to the OWF thing but have been thinking about getting one. I already heat with an earthstove. I'm sure I will forget to ask something here. I have 3300sqft home and plan to heat dhw also would this owf be to big or to small? Thanks in advance

It will do the job.  I don't care for the long firebox and only having grates in thr front part but other than that it's a good unit, is it new or used?  What state?

I'm guessing new but not sure. If I do go with it I'm pretty sure I want new.

Make sure it's something your allowed to have in your state, natures comfort don't have any furnaces that can be sold in several states where epa regs are more prevalent

Nature's Comfort does have an EPA model that can be sold in all states. It is the GT-250.

I think the correct statement is they make claims it meets the EPA Phase 2 standard. As of right now, I don't see it listed as qualified on the site: http://www.epa.gov/burnwise/owhhlist.html
There are a lot of companies "claiming" to have an EPA qualified furnace, but they don't show up on the official EPA site and can't produce the hang tag.

The claims are true.  Natures Comfort worked hard all summer to design and build the New GT-250.  All of the testing has passed for the EPA Phase 2.  They are currently finalizing the paper work through the EPA.  Look for the GT-250 to be listed as qualified in the next few weeks!

There are a few stoves that have passed EPA testing and are awaiting publication, this is likely there case as I know of a few others who have passed the testing easily but it takes a while for the paper work to process
