Overnight shut down
« on: November 06, 2013, 07:51:35 AM »

Good morning everyone.
Just got and hooked up a CB e2400 this fall and have burned it for a few days now.
All seemed to be going well until this am when I walked out to check the fire and noticed the the power to the unit was off.
I checked the power button on the unit and the breaker in the garage. Both are on.
I have only had 3-4 days of burning and performed no maintenance yet.
Any thoughts on how to get powered back up?

I would get a meter and started reading voltages at different places to figure out where the issue is.  maybe a short somewhere.

One time i actually hooked up an old pump and it shorted out and instead of flipping the breaker it actually burned up the wire somewhere between the breaker box and the pump like a fuse.  had to run new wire from box to unit hahaha.

Anyways try and figure out where the voltage dissappears to try and narrow down the problem area.

You have a fuse at the unit that may be blown.  If you replace and it and it blows again, call your dealer.  He will ask you to do some test at the Firestar Control panel which should indicate if your panel needs to be replaced.  Good luck

Honestly guys, not trying to slam anybody, in your opinion, is that fancy controller worth it or do you in your opinion think it's all necessary, just want your opinion, as some have said in the industry that it helps, I however doubt the real need. I would like to see some real tests, identical units, same fuel. anybody have any thoughts.

They sure have enough issues out of these fancy control boards, I'm not trying to knock them but here and on the cb section it's electrical issue upon another

I'm going into 3rd year heating my home and DHW with my CB E-Classic 1400 and I have not experienced the problems with mine that others have had with theirs.  The one problem I had was through my own dang fault.  Perhaps mine was built on day other than a Friday or Monday...  ;)  Roger

Got it all sorted.
Thanks for your input.
Seems the breaker in the house had a faulty connection.
Working again.
