I really didn't think I'd see the time when I'm entering my 8th month of heating my house.  Thankfully, I can count on the OWB to get me through this, not the oil burner.  But, the long range forecast looks like I won't have to count on it much longer (I hope).  My tally is a bit over 8 cord this heating season.  That's not too bad for an old house in northern New England.  Roger

I didn't start mine till the first week of November last year. Still going now though. The hired man said far as he can remember this is the longest he's had his still going in the spring. Once this last bit of wood is gone it's going out. May 1st and the trees are still naked here.

Thank GOD and Brian that I have a chip burner, I shudder to think how much firewood I would have had to process if I were still heating with my old smoke dragon, I'm going to fire my optimizer 250 today and plug it into the house and shop for a test run before the Essex Jct. Vt. show next week.

Wasn't that long ago we had what seemed like a year without a summer. Cooler temps all summer and rain, I think most of the summer it barely got into the low 80's which made haymaking a losing proposition.

Uh Oh he found us, Hi Neal!
Do I get to highlight my favorites?!?!?!  I'm gonna anyhow hehehe.

Quote
For most in America, Europe, and Asia, the winter of 1815-1816 was the coldest in living memory.
Who in the sam hell has been alive since 1815?  Come on!

Quote
My prediction of a “year without summer” is based partly on the record of 1816 and other years of increased volcanic activity.
2008, a very warm year had massive volcanic activity.  What was his prediction then.   ::)

Quote
This prediction is backed up by the National Weather Bureau and other sources that predict an extended period of cold in the northeast and upper Midwest.
Map from the link in the article:

Compare the below average (small blue pocket) with the orange that covers the entire south of the country,   ;D

Quote
Instead of expanding free markets, the Obama administration has done all it can to suppress the primate sector and squander wealth, thus leaving the country vulnerable to the economic shock of weather events such as the current near-record cold.
Obama has done nothing but give money to corporations, at times even more efficiently than free markets.  Obama has done no such thing as suppress the (I assume the typo is private...) private sector.  Hell what does he think Obama care is, other than a giant money grab for medical insurance companies.   :bash:

How can anyone take this fruit loop seriously...
