General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Re: OWB Efficiency?
« on: January 28, 2015, 06:52:11 PM »
Never worried about efficiency. I get railroad tie ends with my own dump truck and heat the house for less than $50 per yr! No cutting or splitting just throwing them onto a big pile after I lay skids down. I am curious though just how efficient mine really is. How do you even determine that?

Well I know for a fact that they do not want any type of hype brought to them via news, news paper ect. It has been brought to there attention last week that Im not asking for a hand out, Im simply asking for enough for me to start my life over. Just enough for closing cost and cost to move and all that happy horse manure. I could be a dick and really go all out and post picket signs and bring attention to them in ways they don't want. And ALL that they are now aware of and seem to be cooperating more and more now. The CEO and higher ups are getting more involved now. The Project manager tried telling me that they are at 99% of there budget. Really? This plant is costing a estimated value of $800 million. Yes your reading that right. So to tell me that $150k will break the bank is nothing but crap. I call BS!

Yeah it sure sounds like they weren't going to buy properties unless you approach them to me. I hate to raise hell and bring attention to me but that's just what Im going to do. My girlfriend is from South Jersey and knows some "high profile" people. She is contacting her lawyer friend and seeing what we should do from here. I guess next week they will be bringing in choppers to thread the power lines from the power station to the power plant itself. That should be neat to see. Still an eye sore!

I finally found out some good info with my neighbors. The lady who just moved in spilled some beans for me. She said the previous owners complained so much that panda-patriot bought them out. She said she would give me some info but I never seen nor heard from her again. Im guessing she wasn't suppose to tell me this much. See, her husband rents off panda because he works for them. Odd? Now I have friends in the real estate business and I had them look up the selling history of the house. She told me that Panda Patriot bought the house for 240k! They had it listed for 223k! Whats up with that????

There's a guy I work with that just built a full 2 car garage with 4x10 and 4x8 pallets. I told him that was the dumbest thing I ever heard and how stupid it would look. Did he prove me wrong! I tell ya when I go to build another garage I will be doing this. We get the skids for free here at work, you know how much he saved by doing this! Genius idea if you ask me.

Do you ever oil it? Depending on which fan you have there should be ports so you can oil them. When they start to make noise is when there on there way out. Found that out first hand last winter and was stuck without one for a few days. Do yourself a favor and order one asap and keep it on hand as a backup!

I was thinking about the warpage issue as well. I thought it was pretty neat they made one for outside but to me Id much rather have a plan jane woodstove in the basement as I do now. Then you catch all the heat that stove produces. These are fairly new so Im really anxious to read some reviews about them.
