My e2400 has been running a month now. Great unit but why is my bypass door handle getting stiffer to open every day. I can't see behind the housing. Anyone have ideas?
Sounds like a problem to me, but you didn't have any problems right? We are here to share info and help each other not try to sell what brand we own as that's for each person to figure out on there own. Someone asks for an opinion then its cool to give yours but this post is not cool, not cool at all. For all you newbies looking for a stove go to the manufactures websites of all the stoves on this site, find things you like/dislike and do more research on the ones you like. Call the companies and ask questions, talk to owners but its about whats important to you..... their is no "one stove fits all". All the stoves listed on this site heat someone's home its up to you which one will heat yours. Keep warm people

It only takes away enough to keep the hot water at a more consistent temp. Explanation-  if it was after the furnace and you were in the shower with water temp set and the furnace cuts on and drops the water temp. 20 degrees so you turn a little more hot water on........boom furnace cuts off and hotter water again. So before the water heater tends to act as a buffer and deliver more consistent temps.

A larger differential will make for a hotter burning fire which in turn should help with the sticking damper that's being caused mostly by creosote. Try 155 on with 170 off just make sure you have a good coal bed and it will work great.

Looks nice, but just wondering why you split your wood in such small pieces?
one reason he prob did it cause it's easier to handle than big chunks of wood..A lot of my wood of wood is split
Correct, smashed my fingers to many times trying to put big rounds in so I split anything over 7-8  inchs.

I just got a tri-axle load of logs and was very happy with it for $550! My shed is 16 wide, 8 deep and 7ft tall. I got 8 cord easy.

I'm in rural western part of Va. and lots of  heatmaster and hardy stoves in my area. Stainless vs mild steel is a battle thats yet to be won either way, boils down to what you want in your stove and what you think is best for you. People will try to sell you on the stove they have so go out and look at the stoves and make a list of likes and dislikes with each and dealer support is a must if you need help. I have a round firebox made of mild steel that works great for me, my in-laws have a central boiler with the square firebox and it works great for them, some friends down the road have hardys with the square stainless firebox and heatmasters with round stainless fireboxs that work great for them. Point is they all work just what you need/want/can afford really makes the difference.

I chose to goto the water heater first so it was always the most consistent temperature. I have my 20 plate setup so it dumps  hot water into the water heater thus making the hwh a storage tank. If it went to the other exchanger first and it callex for heat I could possible lose some hot water and have to readjust while showering and when the furnace cut off could get burnt from the temp. Rise. I don't have a tempering valve and this system has worked percectly for my family.

Obviously Scott we have a different way of doing buisiness, my goal is to improve the integrity of this industry by trying to help educate those that do not understand thier system, when a person comes on here that has an issue that is new to us all ,I personally would prefer to see that issue resolved here on the forum rather than a phone call where the only people having the discussion are the customer and salesperson, how do we all learn if the discusion is off line. Is this not the mission on the forum or am I sadly mistaken.

This was Posted by slim in the shaver forum to someone asking for help .........

WOW what a waste of good heat, and a real safety hazard!

How did this improve integrity or educate anyone? If you don't have the answer why post at all? You need to chill out as you might be good with people face to face but your on-line communication skills are not the best as you come off like a "you know what" alot of the time. Just thought someone should be honest and let you know.

Electronics / Re: Need help with t-stat
« on: October 30, 2013, 11:04:22 AM »
Take wire completely off of g and splice to w going to new stat. Here's a pic of mine, its a heat pump system. The blue wire nut is on the green wire that was on the g  terminal on the original stat and its connecting to the white wire that goes to the w on the new stat.

Most i assume have a heat pump system like me and  that is 2 stages of heat with the heat pump itself and the eletric strips are back up or 2nd stage. The second stat gives the ability to just run the fan to a set temp.

Central Boiler / Re: Wiring issue.

So you ran the w on the new stat to the g on the original stat and your condensor runs. Sometimes you can pull the g out of its spot in the original stat and connect the w from the new stat to just the g wire with a wire nut and it will stop the feedback. Summer comes just take them apart and put the g back in it spot.

Even if everybody did, what difference would it make?  :bash: Last year I ran 170-155 but after reading some of the recent comments on here I will be running 175-160 this year.   >:D
Its your stove run what is best for you and let it go already.
