Title: Spammers
Post by: slimjim on March 28, 2015, 06:11:46 AM
How about adding the ability of some of us to stop these jerks before they trash the entire forum, I have been watching this last one since about 4:30 Am.

It just sucks watching this and not being able to stop it, I know deleting all those posts takes a lot of time!

We have three moderators that can do just that, but that only works when they are on (myself included).

I'd love to change how posting works for new members, first ten posts would have to be approved by a moderator before it can be seen by anybody else. This would be up to the owner/admin of the site to change though.

I also don't have the necessary access to promote anybody else to moderator.

Be patient gentlemen, the mods have cleaned this place up before, they can do it again.

Soonest begun, soonest done.

Only two of those asshats to deal with this time.

At the bottom of any post is a report to moderator button, click on it an I'll get a email notification. Heres a photo:

Busy morning, hauled hay to the auction this morning, logged into the site and got your message. Haven't even checked email today yet.

It's all about link building. The more links to your site, the higher it ranks in search results. Googlebot is good at sorting out spam links though.

I clicked on todays spammers info and it turns out he has been a member here since 2013? Does the site keep him around for entertainment purposes or to just increase post counts

He could have had a bot that trolls the web registering wit every site it can find and he finally got around to pestering us.
