hot air firewod kiln
« on: January 30, 2011, 05:52:35 AM »

Hi,
First time post, I sell firewood and want to build a forced hot air wood furnace for my 40 ft. container. I have not seen any firewood guys with this set up,but I can not see why it would not work. I have all the free wood from tree companies that I need. The tempature should get to 180-200 deg. for two to three days. If I can not maintain this temp. it is no problem to heat for three to four days. Any thoughts or suggestions would be very, very helpful. The kiln would be used in the summer and the wood would be stored for winter sales. Thanks in advance,CtDryWood

Well if thats what you want it should work.Build you a fire box ,and then buld an air gap around it then highly insulate that jacket.Make a chmber to allow for return air and the forced air going to your container. Not so sure on how efficient it would be though.
