Yea That's what I thought too. Thanks. I did hit two field tiles right by the boiler but fixed them as I dug the trench. Im going to be very upset if I don't have logstor pex and was sold what I was thought to be logstor! The stuff I have is in a 4" field tile looking black pipe with foam looking blue wrap with a thin layer of alumn foil lightly around each wrap. Most areas of the wrap is 6 layers thick. It has a light plastic wrap around all of that and then inside the black pipe. It is inch pex.

The only thing I can think of is that water is getting into the wrap at the splice and riding the pex down to the boiler. I hope my stuff isn't ruined.

Equipment / Re: In the market for a saw

Agree to the above. I will be the odd man out and say that I love my Dolmar. I have a PS7901. Its 79cc's with plenty of power and I run a 20" bar. When I cut logs its like im on tv cutting to win a race lol. It is also a heavy saw. When im cutting small stuff I sometimes wish I had a small saw for the smaller tasks.

Empyre / Re: How are the Empyre boilers running?

It was in the mid 40's today. Is going to get really really cold this week so I decided to clean the boiler really good. Took the fan off the  back and creosote was level with the bottom of the draft door  :o. Took me about a hour to clean out that nasty goo. the draft holes were still open but had just ran all that nasty stuff back into the bottom of the draft box.

I picked up 3 truck beds full sunday and have been buring it this week. I still get my 12 hour burn times but it is a little more smokey and you have to use more of it. Like I told the guy that i  got it from. If the boiler will burn it it will produce heat! When it gets cold the next few days I will mix in some split chunks.
what stove you got
empire pro 200

Good so far. Started mine the second week of october. I just fill enough this year to get me by for 10-12 hours. Been working good so far. I only put in about 5 chunks a day. Love the way it just sipps wood. Heating hot water and 1 year old 1500 sqft ranch with full walk out basement and 9 ft tall ceilings in basment and cathedral (sp)? up stairs.

I have had a empyre pro series 200 for a season and a half. Love the burn times and is easy to clean. Have had problems with the forced draft box as others but also am going to be building a big shop in the next few years and was the reason for the 200. More demand and less idling helps a bunch imho. I always check weather at night to see what the temps will be like and load box accordingly. Makes a big diff.
