If you can drop a perforated drain tile under it and that will help keep ground water away from it.

In my H2 (before it burned up LOL) I put a collar inside sticking down about 6 inches. I hooked it in with a piece of #9 wire to hold it and it did help. Not sure how much because I did not use it all season but I did get longer burns with it. My son in law has the H4 and it came with the plate, he says it helps but some times it gets knocked out of place and he has to put it back in place.

I am in about the same boat Roger, since I retired last year I have gained about 15 pounds. At 6' 1" I am at 215 and need to get back down to about 190 or 195. Your story has inspired me to get off my butt and get rid of this excess weight.

My son in law has the H4 and it works great. His house is about 2000 sq. ft. upstairs and the same in the finished basement. Keeps it nice and warm and only loads once per day.

I put mine in the supply line this time (down draft) and used shark bite 90 degree, used angle about 3/4 by 3/4 on the sides to lay on when I slide it in.

Scott, when I had my water to air heat ex. out I bought a bottle of clr to run through it but when I read the bottle it said not to use it on copper. I just used vinegar to flush it but was wondering if it is safe to use the clr next time.
Thanks
Thanks
