Well it aint quite Jason's "Holy Grail" but it's ok with me. My brother, who's been burning with his OWB for about 10 years found this cabinet making shop about 15 miles from our house a few years ago. They have these strips of oak, maple, pine, cherry, etc... that they cut off the edges of the boards. They put them in bundles about 3 feet thick and then use those metal strapping things to hold them together and stack them outside for people to come take for free.
He goes up there with this trailer, (and now I do too) and they load the bundles on with a forklift for us! The bundle on the ground is my load, and the one on the trailer is his (the second) load. He came back the day after I went and took the rest which was about 3/4 of a load. They end up with about this much every 3 weeks or so. We chop it up into 3 foot bundles and toss it in the stove.
It sure does burn fast though! I'll be that's a shocker to everyone in here!
But hey free close wood... what are ya gonna do...?
