« on: October 12, 2013, 02:03:26 PM »

Well guys, finally fired up the owb today...House was getting and staying chilly due to the weather.. I refused to turn on the oil for heat..Nothing like not hearing the oil burner kick on for hot water!..Happy burning guys!

House is at 60 degrees and not moving so I'll be firing mine up Monday (week off from work).  I like being around when I fire her up for the season for the "just in case" scenario.  I'd do it tomorrow but I'll be away for better part of the day and I just got home from work today after working 7 hour overtime and now heading out for dinner with a younger bro.

Yeah Im the same as you..I also gotta be around when I fire her up...Make sure theres no leaks, "just in case" scenario, etc at the oil and owb ends...Gotta say as i write this.. The house is 71F instead 64F like it was earlier today

I am up and running too.  Had some watts connector leaks and fixed all of those with soldered connections and lit it up.  In the 70's most of the day, but cool at night.  Trying to avoid a snivle fest from the females in the house, so an extra few chunks of wood a day is cheap insurance for my sanity.  I have to preserve all of that I have left.

Sanity is like government, not much to start with and don't know if it will ever come back to work!

I fired her up this morning.  It's nice to be sitting in my living room in a short sleeved shirt and not  shivering.  Of the 3 zones, I turned on 2 of them.  One zone is the living room/dining room area.  The second zone I turned on is the kitchen.  The 3rd zone is my bedroom.  I left that one off.  I like it a bit cooler for sleeping.  Roger
