This guy is from the carthage area. I think he builds his own brand of furnace so he should know how to deal with it.

You will have to drain to change anode rod.I just transfer water to one of those 280 gal. container's that are plastic with wire cage around it change rod then put that water back in with more chemicals top with fresh water don't know if its the right way just the way i do it.I spray firebox with diesel, motor oil mix after scraping it down real good then shop-vac it to get as much ash as possible out.Good luck!!

I did not have any ideas you just have to learn how to feed the monster and the only way to do that is through experience. It will burn what you put in it you just have to learn (and i am still learning) how to feed it based on the weather. You only want enough wood to make it to the next time you check it. I have a 4135 heating about 1600 square ft  poorly insulated house.

The legend is a improvement of  the taylor stove my stove does not smoke after the first couple of minutes after start of fan the key is to use dry wood no matter what brand of stove you have

I have a Legend bought it last year.So far so good i burned 5 cords last winter.I live in central NC but i didnt learn how to burn till after christmas so i wasted alot of wood i am still learning. It will burn what you put in it.Trick is to only put enough wood in till next fill up.There is a learning curve but thats half the fun of burning wood.I may have burned 5 cords of wood but i did'nt burn 1 drop of propane.

Equipment / Re: new saw

I flip the bar every time i have to sharpen the chain. May be to often but it  is no big deal. I got a good deal in that saw and it is in real good condition have cut some big stuff with it and it just melts through the wood.

I also live in central NC. I bought a legend stove last spring this was my first season so i am still learning how to feed it. It is a nice stove similar to a taylor. I have used about 5 cords so far but wasted a lot to start with (learning curve) but have not burned a drop of propane!!

Thanks for the info. Do you build your fire directly on metal in firebox or did you line with firebrick?
