How do you keep the house from getting too hot during the day? Canyou shut the pump off during the day or is that a bad idea?

Drained Central Boiler 6048 for the first time after three seasons. Added new ihibitor and filled, haven't fired it up yet. Will I need to bleed any air out of the system or will it be ok?

Just burnt a huge load of scrap  from a cabinet shop. Didn`t really see a difference. Cardboard doesn't seem to do much either.

Would it hurt anything to drain and leave empty for the summer?

Why would leaving the old water in all summer be better than new all summer?

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / cardboard burn with no water?
« on: May 25, 2015, 02:40:19 PM »
Shut my boiler down yesterday and I`m going to drain and refill this year (3 seasons on it) Has anyone done a carboard burn with the water drained to help remove the creasote from the inside? Good or bad idea?  Also need two gallons of rust inhibitor. Where to buy and what should I pay.

Great idea, you (I,ME)  would need a pair of them. Have to look into a set.

Central Boiler / 6048 solenoid fuse
« on: January 18, 2015, 02:52:59 PM »
This is the 3rd season with my 6048. The 1amp slow burn fuse has blown 4 times this year. Not once the first two seasons. What might be causing this? Is the damper door sticking and causing this fuse to blow?

I know if their tree falls and damages something on your property, they are not liable. Unless you have it on record of the potential damage it may cause and have asked them to take care of it before it  causes the damage.
