G200 or 400 reviews
« on: February 12, 2015, 10:41:04 PM »

I'm curious about these boilers I would like to hear from you guys that have one! How do you like it and any issues with them. Also could anyone that owns one put a YouTube video of the burn and smoke output during gasification, I would love to see that.

There's a video on YouTube of a G200.  It's not a good video but it shows the stack during gasification.

Since the G series uses a induced draft instead of a blower I imagine soon as you open the bottom door the gasification will stop.

Given the 409 stainless construction and the ease of cleaning if I had the choice of the two I'd lean towards the Heatmaster.

The waste oil boiler is finished, back is still messed up though so haven't even thought about starting on a wood gasifier yet. The orthopedist thinks he's done all he can so has referred me to a neurologist, can't get in to see him until March 3rd.

Other guys insurance has already told me I will be getting something for pain and suffering and since I like what I see with the Heatmaster G series I may just pony up and buy one. I don't have enough experience with 409 stainless to feel comfortable building my own out of stainless and am pretty sure the vertical heat exchanger only won't work so hot using just mild steel.

Not as bad as it would have been if we still had dairy cows, most everything is mechanized now, so get to sit and load hay, grind feed etc which funny enough sitting bothers me more than standing or walking so go figure.

mlappin,  I had a pinched nerve in my neck little over a year ago, lots of trips to the physiotherapist, then more recently this fall a slipped disc in my back, same thing, lots of physio and drugs. Yes the best thing is walking or standing, tend to look for hard chairs to sit down. I had my son helping with a lot of the chores most of this winter, still have to move carefully, and also glad no longer milking to have to squat all the time

Mlappin you are correct on the reaction chamber fire going out with the door open, I will be installing some heat treated glass in the reaction chamber door of my show unit this spring so that we can show it in action.

Well, he basicly told me he got a g200 last year. Working good so far. Burning dead ash from around the farm. Tried throwing in a little green wood to see what would happen and got no undesirable results. I don't think he's a regular on the forum.

I have only been running the G 200 for just over a week but I can tell you that my wood supply is very green hardwood, mostly maple with a bit of oak and beech, no undesirable effects so far and doing a great job on 6000 feet, to be fair it has warmed up here a bit to 40s during the day and single digits at night but I am getting my desired 12 hour burns
